CDA to Ensure EMP During IJP Road Project’
During the repair and widening of I.J. Principal Road, the Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (Pak-EPA) instructed the officials of the Capital Development Authority to implement an effective environmental management plan (EMP).

He proposed that CDA authorities make the required preparations for the relocation of the equipment associated with the transplantation of 1,265 trees. Kiani noted that there was an urgent need to examine the survival rate of the plants previously transplanted in the federal capital, as well as the availability of the machine previously loaned for the construction of the G-7 underpass.
During the project briefing, the CDA official stated that the overall length of the road to be restored and enlarged was 10.2 kilometers, and that two more lanes would be added to both sides of the dual carriageway roadway.
In addition, two bridges and flyovers will be constructed as part of the project, which will begin in Faizabad and end at N-5. He also affirmed that the I-12 site would not be used as a dump, but rather the Margalla Town site.

In place of 1,265 different species of plants, the CDA will plant 8,000 trees along the road and additional saplings throughout the operating period, he noted. During project development, he noted that the public would be made aware of the need to discourage movement on I.J. Principal Road by various means, such as ITP radio and banners.
