CDA to Finish Diplomatic Enclave Road Early
ISLAMABAD, January 11, 2023- The Capital Development Authority(CDA) has announced to finish the diplomatic enclave road early.
A CDA representative informed the reporters that officials have ordered to speed up the construction of a new road connecting the Diplomatic Enclave to the surrounding area. The route, which begins on Murree Road and forms a “L,” will provide an alternative to Third Avenue, which traverses the old Diplomatic Enclave and its environs. In order to accomplish this, the CDA has ordered all residents of the homes along the proposed path to relocate, and more than 22 homes have already been demolished.
He further stated that after the road is completed, traffic on Third Avenue will be restricted, and all embassies operating in other sections of Islamabad will be required to relocate to their allocated zones within the diplomatic enclave. It is essential to understand that CDA initiated the project because the embassy of a friendly nation, located on Third Avenue, was concerned about safety. When completed, the new route will be open to all traffic, but Third Avenue will be inaccessible. The CDA has also stated that the additional road construction will allow more embassies and missions to be located in the broader area.
