CDA Yet to Publicize BuP Award of Seven Acquired Sectors

Islamabad: The built up property (BuP) award of its seven purchased sectors has not been made public by the Capital Development Authority (CDA).

The civic agency has yet to declare a BuP award to assume full control of the sectors, despite the passing of 12 years after the authority acquired these seven sectors through the announcement of land awards back in 2008.

According to CDA representatives Dawn talked with, it would have been ideal if both awards had been made on the same day, and it is odd that CDA announced a land grant while the BuP award is still pending.

They claimed that the authority’s neglect gave people the opportunity to build additions to their homes.

In accordance with CDA regulations, the CDA is required to exchange any house acquired through the BuP award for a 5 Marla plot in one of its sectors with a covered area of around 300 square yards.

In response to questions, Director (Land) Shafi Marwat stated that CDA is aware of the upcoming BuP prizes and that the announcement of these awards is imminent.

In response to a question, he stated that the authority had chosen to announce both land and BuP awards on the same day for future land purchase for sector development in order to prevent construction on CDA’s acquired property.
