Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved a major water infrastructure project linked to Daducha Dam in Rawalpindi, aimed at improving the availability and distribution of water across the area.

The project includes the development of a modern surface water treatment plant along with an extensive water supply network. The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) will also establish the required distribution system to support a more reliable water supply.

According to the Housing Department, the project is scheduled for completion by December 2029.

The initiative is expected to strengthen Rawalpindi’s long-term water infrastructure and improve the capacity of the city’s water supply system as demand continues to grow.
