Commission on Master Plan to Protect Zone III, IV Green Areas
The reconstituted commission for revision of the master plan of Islamabad has resolved to protect green spaces in Zones III and IV through strategic planning.

The group also reviewed a number of Islamabad’s chronic difficulties, such as the reduction of green space in Zones III and IV, water issues, and public transportation.
During the meeting, it was also decided that this commission will complete its duty within six months and that, rather than engaging a single consultant firm, a variety of firms will be recruited to complete the revision of the city’s blueprint within six months. In addition, the commission resolved to meet weekly.

According to the sources, the commission also reviewed the lack of public transportation, and it was revealed that, based on the proposal of the last commission, seven routes had been selected, and CDA will operate buses on three of them in the coming months.
The PTI government established a commission in December 2018, which produced an interim report in November 2019, but since then, no comprehensive revision has been conducted. Now, the reformed panel asserts that the project will be completed within six months.
