Construction of Rohtas Fort Bypass to Start in Two Months
The PDWP-approved construction of the 3,1-kilometer Rohtas Fort Bypass will commence within two months. The bypass will facilitate travel for tourists visiting the historic site.

This was said at a meeting held by the Tourism Advisor to the Chief Minister of Punjab, Asif Mehmood, at Rohtas Fort in the Jhelum district.
It was stated that a Tourism Information Center (TIC) will be built to provide information about the fort and its history. PTEGP will transform the facades of the residences inside the village into a traditional style.
Moreover, a suitable area will be designated for parking services for tourists and other guests.
Asif Mehmood instructed the officials to secure a suitable parking space for tourists. PTEGP briefed him on the installation of signage and directional boards on GT Road.

The tourism consultant also instructed the officers to improve visitor facilities outside the fort along the bypass, including restaurants and restrooms of international grade.
PTEGP work at Rohtas Fort are projected to cost roughly Rs1 billion, while Archaeology Department projects are estimated to cost approximately Rs256 million.
