Construction Work on South Punjab Secretariat to Commence
Saturday, South Punjab Additional Chief Secretary Saqib Zafar announced that building of the South Punjab secretariat would commence in the first week of August.
The civic secretariat on Matti Tal road comprised of 404 kanals of land, and the project would cost Rs 2.4 billion.

While briefing Parliamentarians here at the circuit house, he stated that Rs 189 billion had been allocated in the budget for 11 districts of South Punjab and that these money would be used to enhance the infrastructure of this region at all costs.
The approval of the South Punjab secretariat’s rules of business has entered its final phase. The South Punjab ACS determined that a distinct budget book and uplift projects had been established, and that funding for any project could not be transferred back to Lahore.

In response to inquiries from parliamentarians, the ACS stated that all secretaries had been instructed to immediately utilize budget after the approval of uplift projects. Parliamentarians were afterwards provided with a multimedia briefing on the civil secretariat.
