Cotton Bale Production is Expected to Reach 8.46 million this Year
The Cotton Crop Assessment Committee predicts that Pakistan’s entire cotton production would exceed 8.46 million bales this year.
This year’s cotton production in Punjab is projected to exceed 4.5 million bales, up 8.5% over the previous year. Estimates place the total amount of cotton produced at 8.46 million bales.
It was shown that the year 2020 experienced 398.6mm of precipitation, which had a terrible effect on output, however this year’s precipitation totaled only 78.6mm, which has improved the production outlook. In addition, Mealybug, Whitefly, and CLCuV outbreaks were remained rampant, posing a risk to cotton production.

According to Fakhar, the government will proactively provide farmers with superior seed. According to the minister, after eight years, the current administration set an intervention price of Rs. 5,000 per 40kg, which encouraged farmers to engage in crop management and harvest good yields.
In the previous season, Pakistan produced the most of the top five crops, including wheat, with a record output of 27.5 million tons, he noted.
