Country’s Import Growth Decreases: Commerce Ministry

Islamabad: The Ministry of Commerce has reportedly revealed that the country’s import growth has begun to decline.

“Pakistan’s imports decreased from $ 7.9 billion in November 2021 to $ 6.9 billion in December 2021, a decrease of $1 billion,” the ministry reported in a statement released on Sunday. The import forecast for December was $6,2 billion.

“Pakistan’s exports climbed by 16.7 percent from $2.366 billion in December 2020 to $2.76 billion in December 2021. Monthly exports were aimed at $2.8 billion. Farrukh Habib, minister of state for information and broadcasting, stated that the value of exports hit $15,125 billion in the first half of the fiscal year.

Increased export development would not have been feasible without the leadership of Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan. Moreover, he predicted that the country would experience a $30 billion rise in exports by the end of the year if exports continued to expand at the same rate.
