PM Imran Approves RS 5 B Humanitarian Aid for Afghanistan
In addition to approving Rs 5 billion in humanitarian help for Afghanistan, Prime Minister Imran Khan also permitted the passage of Indian food supply for the nation through Pakistan.
PM Khan “directed urgent shipment of in-kind humanitarian assistance of Rs5 billion,” the PM Office (PMO) reported.
According to the PMO, the aid would include winter shelters, essential medical supplies, and food items like 50,000 tons of wheat. A group of Kabul health officials will travel to Islamabad later this week to work out the details of Pakistan’s assistance to Afghanistan’s health sector.
On October 1, while FM Qureshi was in Afghanistan for a meeting with the Taliban leadership, the prime minister announced that the assistance had been approved.

Since September, Pakistan has been delivering humanitarian aid to Afghanistan practically every day.
The prime minister added that it had been agreed upon in principle to cut tariffs and sales tax on important Afghan exports to Pakistan while giving the ministries instructions to assist Afghans as much as possible.
Yusuf, who is also the AICC convener, gave a briefing to the civil and military leadership on Afghanistan’s current economic condition and the AICC’s progress in coordinating national efforts to provide humanitarian aid and ease border crossings for Afghans.
