CPEC Phase-II to Bring Investment Opportunities for Investors
According to news reports, China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Chairman Khalid Mansoor stated in Islamabad that the launch of CPEC Phase-II will bring wealth and job opportunities to the country.
He told a delegation of 70 Chinese companies that the government is offering investors a 10-year tax vacation in Special Economic Zones (SEZs) to encourage industrial development.
According to the information provided, the government is making an extra effort to develop all nine SEZs. The chairman stated that four of the nine SEZs had reached the colonization stage of development. He stated that the development of CPEC will provide wealth and boost China and Pakistan’s bilateral ties.
Minister of Planning and Development Asad Umer stated that more Chinese enterprises should investigate investment opportunities in Pakistan’s industrial sectors in order to increase employment and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). According to him, the government has decreased import duties on capital items for industrial units in an effort to increase SEZ colonization.

On this occasion, the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong stated that Chinese firms would collaborate closely with the CPEC administration to develop investment prospects in the second phase of CPEC. Noting that China and Pakistan have entered the second phase of CPEC is pertinent.
China has planned to invest USD 62 billion over the next decade in numerous areas, including agricultural, road infrastructure, industrial zones, and power generation, under the auspices of this initiative.
