Customs Seizes Over 1,000 Smuggled Mobiles at Lahore Airport
On Sunday morning, Pakistan Customs foiled an attempt to smuggle over 1000 luxury mobile phones, drones, and PlayStations worth Rs. 100 million at the Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore.

According to sources, the Customs authorities seized electronic devices including 1,044 mobile phones, drones, and five PlayStations from a father and son travelling from Abu Dhabi to Lahore on the information of Collector Customs, Allama Iqbal International Airport.
According to sources, the seized devices are worth more than Rs. 100 million. As per sources, the department has filed a FIR and further investigation is underway.

It is important to remember that on February 23, at the Allama Iqbal International Airport, Customs also recovered smuggled commodities totaling Rs. 70 million, including 290 mobile phones, 52 iPads, 28 computers, and other equipment.
Smuggled phones have a large market in Pakistan, and demand has surged recently due to higher tariffs on imported mobile phones. The sinking local currency has also contributed to the increase in demand, making flagship cellphones very expensive in the nation.
