Funds Released for ‘Mega Development Projects of Karachi’
According to media sources, the Sindh government has budgeted 1.62 billion PKR for massive development projects in Karachi, out of a total of 1.94 billion PKR for the current fiscal year.
According to the budget execution report, PKR 1.94 billion has been allocated to 18 ongoing development projects, while PKR 9 million has been allocated to the new “mega-scheme for Karachi.”

The objective of the new project is the installation and maintenance of traffic signals, signboards, and gantries. Additionally, the project will focus on the aesthetics of municipal streets in order to alleviate infrastructure challenges faced by citizens.

- Submarine Chowrangi underpass construction
- A U-turn will be constructed near Natha Khan Bridge.
- Restoration and improvement of the Karachi Zoo
- Flyover construction at the Tipu Sultan crossroads
- Road construction between Tank Chowrangi and the Super Highway
- Construction and enlargement of Stadium Road
- Reconstruction and improvement of roads around the Lea market
- Construction of Storm Water Drainage (SWD) on Shahrah-e-Faisal from Star Gate to Chakora Nullah
- Bridge enlargement across Orangi Nullah next to Habib Bank Chowrangi
- Reconstruction and repair of the road between Jam Sadiq Bridge and Dawood Chowrangi.
