Diamer-Bhasha Dam’s Project Authority Workers Assured Security
According to news sources, Lt Gen Sahir Shamshad Mirza reassured Diamer-Bhasha dam workers and contractors of a secure environment for construction activities in Islamabad.

The USD 14 billion project will have a water storage capacity of 8.1 million acre-feet (MAF) and generate 4,500 megawatts (MW). The project is anticipated to be finished in 2028-29.
According to the sources, the delegate was briefed on the construction pace, including infrastructure development at the eight project sites.

The Chairman of WAPDA stated to the media that the project is vital to Pakistan since it will store water for irrigation, avoid flooding, and generate inexpensive power. Under confidence-building measures, the chairman added, the government has spent PKR 78 billion on various development initiatives for the locals.
