$25bn Invested in Pakistan As CPEC Launched 7 Years Ago
Since its beginning seven years ago, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has made great progress, providing $25 billion in direct investments to Pakistan, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

Wang added that CPEC projects had improved Pakistan’s infrastructure and electrical supplies, created employment opportunities, and contributed to the country’s gross domestic product growth (GDP).
CPEC, a dynamic project of President Xi Jinping’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), has initiated or completed numerous projects, according to Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin during his regular briefing in Beijing.

Wang noted that CPEC had not only contributed to regional connectivity and wealth, but had also contributed to the progress of the two nations, giving Afghanistan as an example, which imported food and other essential items through the Gwadar port.
In response to a question about third-party and other country engagement in CPEC, he noted that the Chinese side would welcome interested parties to contribute to regional and global peace and prosperity by participating in CPEC and other BRI projects.
