Early Construction of Press Club Building Sought
Khyber: Journalists have voiced concern about the delay in construction of the Landi Kotal Press Club building, and have urged that the provincial information department and the Khyber district government provide the promised funding for the project as soon as possible.

On Sunday, the president of the press club, Imran Shinwari, presided over the annual general meeting at which the issue was expressed.
Imran Shinwari stated that his cabinet has met all of the information department’s prerequisites for the release of funding for the construction of the new press club building.
Mr. Shinwari stated that approximately forty members of the press club were executing their professional tasks in a rented structure that lacked the necessary amenities.

He pleaded with the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mahmoud Khan, and his adviser on information, Kamran Bangash, to urge the provincial information department and Khyber district government to release funds immediately for the construction of the press club building.
The assembly also passed a resolution asking that the province government release the Rs 2 million grant offered by the chief minister for each of the seven amalgamated districts.
