ECC Favors Payment of The First Installment to IPPs
Islamabad: The Economic Coordinating Committee (ECC) on Wednesday approved the first installment payment of Rs 89 billion to 35 independent power producers (IPPs) out of a total of 47, while the payment for 12 IPPs remains. may be withheld due to NAB investigations.

Federal Minister of Finance and Revenue Shaukat Tarin chaired the meeting in which the Department of Energy presented a summary regarding the announcement of the first payment for IPPs.
The Food Division Secretary updated the committee on the recommendations of the subcommittee established at the ECC last week, in addition to a detailed summary of the draft summary for the provision of dietary supplements to NTDC for K-Electric and the problem of non-payment for K-Electric Power Division’s additional energy.
