Economic Policy to be Announced by SBP on Monday
The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) is anticipated to announce the monetary policy on Monday, according to news reports.

SBP Governor Dr. Reza Baqir will provide an update to the media following the MPC meeting, according to a central bank statement.
A report indicates that the benchmark policy rate will remain unchanged.
The governor of the SBP had earlier remarked that the central bank is pausing to examine the consequences of its tightening before determining the appropriate monetary policy settings.

At its most recent meeting on December 14, 2021, the MPC raised the policy rate by 100 basis points to 9.75 percent in an effort to counteract inflationary pressures and reduce the current account deficit.
