Chitral: According to Sartaj Ahmed Khan, coordinator of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), the economic zone being established in Chitral will be a game-changer for the economic development of the region due to its proximity to China and Central Asian states.

At a news conference in Chitral, flanked by representatives of the Chitral Chamber of Commerce and the KP Economic Zones Development and Management Company, he stated that development of the economic zone near the town of Drosh will soon commence, while the sale of plots had already begun.
Several industries, whose raw materials include fruit, vegetables, metallic and nonmetallic minerals, and wood, are unique to Chitral, according to him.

Mr. Khan stated that it was the first economic zone of the Malakand division, which would also exploit the incredible quantity of marble in Lower Chitral and provide thousands of jobs for young people.
