Elevated Expressway Project Approved by CM Buzdar
According to news sources, Usman Buzdar, the chief minister of Punjab, has granted final approval to the Gulberg-Lahore Elevated Expressway project. The 60 billion PKR project will be initiated shortly, with construction commencing in the next months.

During a meeting of the Cabinet Standing Committee on Finance and Development, the project obtained final approval and was included in the annual development plan, according to reports. The dual corridor project would connect the M-2 Lahore-Islamabad Motorway to the Gulberg, Multan, and Canal Roads at a distance of 10,5 kilometers. The project will commence at Gulberg and conclude at the Babu Sabu Interchange.

According to the project’s PC-1, the corridor will reduce travel time from 40 minutes to 15 minutes for 47,000 passengers and commuters every day. There would be exits and entrances for Canal Road, Jail Road, Ferozepur Road, Band Road, and Multan Road on the highway. The elevated highway project would also contain eight dual carriageways, which would reduce the growing traffic congestion in the city.
