Engro Plans Aggressive Expansion for Tower Sharing Business
Engro Corporation, the largest conglomerate in Pakistan, has stated that it will invest Rs14 billion in the telecom infrastructure company Engro Enfrashare to increase the build-to-suit (BTS) towers.

This extra investment will bring the total equity investment in the tower sharing business to Rs21,500,000,000. Engro had already invested Rs7.5 billion in the vertical of tower infrastructure. Engro constructs towers that mobile telecom carriers such as Jazz or Telenor can lease, thereby reducing their capital and operating expenses.
With the increased investment this year, Engro has also announced the formation of Engro Connect (Privately Owned) Limited, a specialized platform for connectivity and telecom infrastructure-related initiatives (EConnect).
Engro says that Enfrashare is currently Pakistan’s largest independent telecom tower company in terms of operationalized and active towers.

Engro Corporation entered the tower-sharing industry in 2018 with an initial investment of 800 million rupees under the brand name Enfrashare. Enfrashare (Private) Limited, engaged in the acquisition and construction of shared telecom towers, provision of various telecommunication infrastructure and related services, including state-of-the-art network monitoring solutions, invested an additional Rs 7.5 billion in 2019 to expand its tower business.
