Engro Polymer Plans to Setup Circular Plastics Institute
In order to further research and development in Pakistan’s circular plastics economy, Engro Polymer and Chemicals Limited (EPCL) intends to create the Circular Plastics Institute (CPI), a non-profit think tank. Maleeha Habib, a Harvard University Extension School student, will create the CPI.

Pakistan may benefit from efficient resource management to boost job development and economic innovation while also preserving the environment by reducing plastic waste by rethinking its plastic problem. Around the world, nations that have made encouraging a circular economy a major component of public policy include Sweden and Germany.
Research on municipal solid waste management, with an emphasis on plastics, is anticipated from the CPI (specifically PVC). The Institute will be able to provide legislative and policy advice to help Pakistan fulfil its obligations to the world to achieve zero waste by 2030.
