Establishment of New Real Estate in Sialkot EPZ Fully Colonized
Punjab’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, Mian Aslam Iqbal, announced the establishment of a new industrial zone in Sialkot when the city’s Export Processing Zone (EPZ) was fully colonized.
Monday’s conference to examine populating the Sialkot EPZ and enhancing its infrastructure was headed by the Minister of State. The conference was attended by Punjab Minister of Special Education Chaudhry Akhlaq Ahmed, Minister of Industry and Commerce Dr. Wasif Crusid, Chairman of the Export Processing Zone Authority Saifdin Genejo, PSIC MD, Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) members, and officials.

The legislature has resolved to establish an EPZ board to strengthen the zone’s infrastructure. Mian Aslam stressed that the government has pledged to completely colonize the industrial zone and that the industrial zone should be constructed on land acquired by the export processing zone. “To begin development, the landowner should pay the membership fee,” he added.

The meeting was informed that the zone contained 881 parcels. Up to 121 land parcels were colonized, 436 land parcels were under construction, and 300 land parcels were demolished due to non-building.
