LAHORE: The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) has recovered 99 commercial shops across Lahore, Nankana Sahib and Kasur as part of an operation targeting properties reportedly occupied without authorisation. The recoveries were reported on October 24, 2026, with security personnel deployed to help prevent renewed encroachments.
According to the reported figures, the ETPB recovered 18 shops and four additional properties covering 30 marlas in the Nankana Sahib zone. In Lahore, the board reclaimed 34 commercial shops, while 47 shops were recovered in Kasur.

The 47 shops recovered in Kasur were valued at approximately Rs100 million, according to the reports. This valuation applies only to the Kasur properties, as no combined value has been provided for the shops and other properties recovered across all three areas.
Security arrangements were made following the operation to protect the recovered premises and reduce the risk of further unauthorised occupation. However, details about the duration of the security deployment, possible legal proceedings and any response from the former occupants have not been reported.

The recovery drive highlights the ETPB’s efforts to regain control of properties under its management and address disputes involving commercial premises. The next steps regarding the recovered shops, including their future use, leasing or possible auction, remain unclear.
Businesses and prospective tenants dealing with trust-owned commercial properties should verify ownership records, lease agreements and official authorisation before entering into a transaction. Further information from the ETPB may clarify the status and future management of the recovered properties.
