Exports Cross $2 Billion for Seventh Consecutive Month
Pakistan’s exports surpassed the $2 billion mark for seven consecutive months (October to April) of fiscal year 21, according to a tweet from Prime Minister Abdul Razak Dawood’s trade adviser.

Addressing relevant officials, Dawood said Pakistan’s exports in April 2021 reached $2.191 billion.
He said that goods sent abroad grew 129% from April 2020; however, the month cannot be counted due to last year’s closing order.
Although the country’s exports are expected to face the impact of Covid-19 in the current financial year, the latest export potential assessment by the International Trade Center for Pakistan predicts that Its exports will increase to $12 billion by 2024.

The report, based on a survey of 1,152 importers and exporters, identifies the most difficult trade barriers facing Pakistani businesses. It provides decision makers with insight into the policies, procedures and means that need to be enhanced to reduce business costs and increase competitiveness.
