PDM Launch Countrywide Agitation for Bills
Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of the Pakistan Democratic Movement, opposed the proposed electoral changes by the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf administration and repeated that the opposition alliance want only transparent and impartial elections in the country.

The leader of his group of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam also stated that an emergency PDM meeting had been convened to prepare the upcoming nationwide protest against the government.
At a press conference held on Sunday evening at the residence of Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan (JUP) chairman Awais Noorani, Maulana Fazl stated that two proposed legislation on domestic abuse and evacuee property violated the Constitution.
He made it plain that his party will oppose any legislation that would convert Pakistan into a secular state.

He stated that a committee of top clerics was studying the two measures, and that following their evaluation, a multiparty conference will be convened to organize protests across the nation. “We will take to the streets with all of our might to rescue the family system,” he stated.
