FBR Introduces e-Hearing of Tax Audit Cases
Islamabad: The Federal Finance Office (FBR) has introduced online negotiations for tax audit and assessment cases.
This module enables online hearings from taxpayer locations in the form of dedicated hearing rooms set up in field formations.

In the first phase, the module was deployed and tested at Large Taxpayer Office (LTO) Islamabad, Regional Taxation Office (RTO) Rawalpindi, RTO Faisalabad and RTO Peshawar.
The FBR has directed all Internal Revenue Commissioners to have dedicated electronic hearing rooms in their field offices by May 31, 2021. This module allows headquarters to participate in administrative evaluation hearings at any time without prior notice to the system. The press release added that with the introduction of the e-hearing module, taxpayers will no longer need to visit the office for the hearing, and that physical office hearings will be completely discontinued.

Therefore, after July 1, 2021, physical hearings will not be permitted in any field formation and all hearings will be conducted through the eHearing module.
