FBR Shares Latest Figures on No. of Filers, Tax Revenue
According to published reports, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in Lahore has received 2.213 million tax returns and collected an additional PKR 41.895 billion in taxes as of October 12.

According to the data, the total number of online income tax return filers was 2.190815 million, and the total deposits were 41.397 billion PKR. By the 12th of October, the number of filers had increased to 2.21 million, with deposits totaling 41.89 billion PKR.
It is important to note that the deadline for filing income tax returns for both new and existing taxpayers was September 30; however, due to technical issues, taxpayers were granted an extension.

In a separate development, the FBR announced that the Export Facilitation Scheme 2021 has been expanded to include all indirect and direct sellers and exporters, allowing for the free movement of goods between users.
Under this programme, the export-oriented sector will be able to acquire local and imported inputs duty- and tax-free in an effort to make Pakistani goods more competitive.
