Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) intends to carry out a comprehensive plan involving informing non-filers and new administrative measures. As to the news sources, officials at the FBR have revealed a daring plan to include one million individuals in the tax net initially.
After that, by 2024, specific actions will be carried out to increase this reach to 1.5 million people. By June 30, 2024, the planned reach may have increased even further, intending to involve 6.5 million taxpayers.

Apart from implementing stringent administrative and judicial protocols to guarantee adherence to tax regulations, the campaign targeting non-filers would involve the dissemination of notifications. The Caretaker Prime Minister (PM), Mr Anwar ul Haq Kakar, has approved the measures and promised to enhance the income base in line with this proposal.
According to FBR officials, only 350,000 people filed tax returns in the current fiscal year, highlighting how persistent the problem is. This highlights how crucial the suggested improvements lead to a notable taxpayer rise. Additionally, it promotes the country’s stability and general economic progress.
