Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Launches e-Portal for NGOs
Omar Ayub Khan, Minister of Economic Affairs, inaugurated the e-Portal and support desk service for non-governmental organisations under the Ministry of Economic Affairs.

Under the former policy, consultation with several ministries, departments, and agencies required an average of 12 to 18 months to complete.
He reminded the attendees that the ECC approved a new “Policy for NGOs/NPOs Receiving Foreign Contribution – 2021” at its meeting on 16 June 2021. Under the new policy, the approval procedure will be completed within a maximum of sixty days via online filing of applications and consultations, with the elimination of manual processing and lengthy delays.
The Minister for Economic Affairs stated that the country’s NGO space has dwindled over the years, and the present administration is committed to strengthening the private and NGO role.

After approval, MoUs and other papers will be forwarded electronically to the relevant organisations. Before the final launch, the e-portal was tested and continuously enhanced. To make it more user-friendly, it is being gradually enhanced.
