FIA Completes Probe into ‘Bogus’ Allotment of 10 Plots
Islamabad: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has concluded its investigation into the fraudulent allotment of 10 plots in the I-11 and I-12 sectors, and its zonal board has authorised the filing of a First Information Report (FIR) in the matter.

The swindle was discovered in August of last year when the One-Window Operation Center of the civic agency’s One-Window Security Directorate seized paperwork related to the plots just minutes before their allotment letters were issued.
After conducting an investigation, the security directorate came to the conclusion that the files were fake. The FIA was then notified of the matter by the CDA.

Yesterday, the agency informed the National Assembly Standing Committee on Interior of the progress of its inquiries into the CDA.
On five other incidents, the paper indicated that two FIRs had been filed in two cases: an attempt to transfer five improperly assigned plots in I-12 and the embezzlement of almost Rs 10 million in the form of cash withdrawals from the CDA accounts by tampering with 38 cheques. According to the paper, the suspects in these incidents have been detained.
Investigation is ongoing in another case involving the alleged unlawful allotment of five plots in F-11.
The FIA has also opened an investigation into the allegedly illegitimate awarding of the city’s cleaning and waste collection contracts.
