FIA Seeks Record of Land Exchange Agreement
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has asked the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to provide records of an agreement made in 2007 with the Defence Housing Authority (DHA). The agreement involved the transfer of 1,500 kanals of land from the CDA to the DHA in Zone 5, with the DHA expected to give the CDA 727 developed plots in exchange.

However, the CDA has yet to receive possession of the plots, which were supposed to have been granted over a decade ago. The FIA has requested information on the status of the agreement and the 2,400 kanals specified, as well as the CDA’s stance on any state land in the possession of a private developer called Emar.
Despite discussions occurring about obtaining the plots from the DHA, there has been no concrete progress for unknown reasons. The CDA formed a committee in June of last year to visit the DHA and prepare a report, which indicated that three potential sites were discussed for plots to be provided to the CDA.
The CDA has listed the plots as assets receivable in its budget documents, and a senior officer has stated that they will provide complete details of the case to the FIA and engage with the DHA to address any issues related to the pending plots.
