Final Notices Issued to Private Schools to Relocate By RCB
The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board has issued final notifications to private educational institutions to evacuate residential areas in Rawalpindi (RCB). The owners of the schools and institutions have been notified that they must vacate the premises by the end of 2021.
The RCB spokeswoman stated that the notices were issued in response to an order from the Supreme Court. If the owners failed to relocate the schools and colleges, the buildings would be shut and subject to severe repercussions.
The spokeswoman claimed that the final letters were delivered due to the owner’s failure to comply with previous instructions. He reported that the RCB had posted banners around the buildings instructing the public and principals to vacate the residential areas so as not to disrupt the academic year of the pupils.

The proprietors of the school obtained a stay order against the relocation from the Supreme Court. For three years, the judge prohibited the board from taking any action against the schools. Private institutions have until the end of 2021 to depart the residential zones, per the revised deadline.
