First Modern Downtown Project to Be Launched Soon in Lahore
According to the most recent reports, on Thursday, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister (SACM) of Punjab, Hassan Khawar, announced that Lahore’s first contemporary Lahore Downtown would soon be inaugurated in Lahore’s Central Business District (LCBD). The Downtown will be followed by the launch of Lahore’s first Digital and Residential City.

Reports indicate that the proposed Lahore Downtown will feature blue highways, an underground traffic system, pedestrian amenities, smart trees, a reliable power source, and internet of things capabilities (IoT). In addition, he added that the government formed the LCBD with an initial expenditure of PKR 100 million and that the government has generated PKR 40 billion through land auctions to date.
According to him, the project will reach 100 billion Pakistani rupees in March 2022 and 200 billion Pakistani rupees in March 2023. This commercial district is anticipated to generate up to PKR 2,500 billion in government revenue. Notably, Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated the Central Business District (CBD) project in March 2021.

On the grounds of the former Walton Airport, construction commenced. Multiple highrises, corporate, and residential structures are included in the design idea for the project, all of which are intended to reap the benefits of vertical living.
