Flyover at Karim Market Postponed Other Projects Approved
According to a recent news report, the Punjab government has delayed the construction of a flyover and underpass at the Karim Market intersection in Allama Iqbal Town Lahore by six months and declared that it will start work on five mega-development projects totaling PKR 20.5 billion at the end of April this year.
For these five infrastructure megaprojects in Lahore, the provincial government is currently carrying out the “qualification of contractors, bidding process, an award of contracts, transfer of funds, etc.”
These upcoming initiatives include the following:
- Flyover construction at Sheranwala Gate
- An underpass is being built at Ghulab Devi Hospital.
- the addition of new lanes to the Lahore Bridge (Ferozepur Road)
- Shahkam Chowk flyover construction
- constructing five underpasses on The Mall and clearing the Barkat Market (Garden Town) Y-junction of traffic jams
The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has reportedly been charged with developing these projects promptly now that they have been approved for launch.
These plans were ordered in response to research on factors such as the number of vehicles passing, traffic jams, public need, environmental impact, pollution, etc.
