Peshawar: The government has decided to launch a number of projects in different fields for economic recovery, job creation and poverty reduction under a foreign-funded program.

In this regard, a meeting was held here on Monday under the chairmanship of Minister Mahmood Khan to review the progress of foreign-funded development projects. The meeting also discussed new projects to be implemented in the next two years according to the program.
The meeting was informed that a total of 27 projects in different fields worth USD 2.451 billion are being implemented.
These programs include Balakot Hydropower Development, Kurram Tangi Water Resources Project, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Town Improvement Project, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rural Road Development Project, Mohmand Hydropower Project, and economic transformation. rural economy and other programs.

In addition, several drinking water supply projects will be implemented to provide drinking water to both urban and rural communities in the province. The provincial government will identify development projects in these areas and share them with the economic department for further processing.
The Prime Minister directed relevant agencies to focus on backward areas of the province as well as the districts newly merged under foreign capital projects.
