Gas Pipeline Project’s Construction to Start Right After Signing Agreement
Sergei Lavrov, the foreign minister of Russia, stated that after Pakistan and Russia had signed the North-South Gas Pipeline Agreement, Russia may begin building the Pipeline.

The North-South Gas Pipeline, a 1100 km pipeline between Lahore and Karachi, is the showpiece project here, according to Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov, who spoke at a news conference in Islamabad. “We have discussed our cooperation in the sphere of energy,” he added. Shah Mahmood Qureshi, his equivalent from Pakistan, stood on each side of him.
According to Sergey Lavrov, relations between Pakistan and Russia are positive and advantageous for both countries.
The Russian FM also reaffirmed that his nation was prepared to boost Pakistan’s capacity to combat terrorism, including by providing Pakistan with specialized military hardware. It served the regional states’ interests.

He also emphasized the need for a Middle Eastern peace, particularly the creation of a Palestinian state.
On the gas project, FM Qureshi said he was pleased to inform the country that Pakistan has surmounted the project’s obstacles.
Shahd Mahmood stated that they had also examined the bilateral defense and counterterrorism cooperation and believed that they had a framework for a conversation in this regard.
