Government Asked to Set up Prosecutor General Office in KP
Peshawar: The All Pakistan Prosecution Officer Welfare Association (APPOWA) has urged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial government to establish a prosecutor general’s office in the province, similar to the other provinces.

According to a press statement released here, the association made the demand at a meeting to which its president Amant Ali, vice-chairman Sangeen Shah, general secretary Siraj Memon, press secretary Zulfiqar Ali, and joint secretary Asadullah were also present.
The organisation noted that all three sister provinces have created prosecutor general offices in their respective provinces for the prosecution of criminal offences in superior courts by their respective prosecution officers with the requisite experience.
In addition, the delegates urged the Punjab government to modernise the service structure of its prosecutors by introducing grade 20 and grade 21 positions, as in other provinces.

In a similar vein, the urged the Balochistan government to abandon its appeal against the Balochistan High Court’s ruling that prosecutors are entitled to non-practice allowance.
