Government Awaits a Green Signal from China to Launch ML-I Bidding
Lahore: The government has requested permission from the Chinese authorities to begin the bidding process for the Main Line-I (ML-I) project of the CPEC.
The administration asserts that any issues relating to the cost modification will be resolved at a later date. It anticipates ultimate approval of the project in the near future, as relevant officials have learned that the Chinese government has begun the necessary steps.
The chairman stated that the government would soon sanction the Rs 30 billion project for the restoration of the 460-kilometer-long deteriorating rail track from Khanpur to Sukkur, as the PR had already sent a PC-I to the relevant departments.

In a recent interview with Dawn, Sher Ali Arbab, chairman of the National Assembly’s Parliamentary Committee on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), stated that concerns relating to the approval of ML-1 were being resolved as a top priority.
