Govt Forms Committee to Resolve CDA Land Compensation
According to news sources, the Federal Cabinet of Pakistan has established a committee to handle compensation concerns relating to the land purchase by the Capital Development Authority (CDA).
Within ninety days of the application’s submission, the committee, which will be chaired by a retired High Court judge or similar authority, shall investigate the relevant matters and render a decision.
According to the meeting minutes, landowners whose property was acquired by CDA without compensation must submit an application to the board’s secretary. The relevant authorities would provide feedback on the application to the secretary.
The board will then render a verdict within 90 days. Section 5 of the CDA Ordinance of 1960 said that people whose pay had been delayed would receive benefits.

In addition, the cabinet directed CDA to present a development plan and timetable for Sector E-12 at the following cabinet meeting. In the late 1980s, the authority purchased Sector E-12 and issued allotment letters for the same.
However, the sector has not yet been developed due to the absence of landowners. However, the government has stated that the sector’s development will be a priority.
