Government Partly Suspends Inter-city Transport
Islamabad/Karachi: When the nation’s total of critically ill Covid-19 patients rose to 3,568, the highest number ever recorded in the nation, the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC) decided to put a ban on intercity travel on weekends, which are Saturdays and Sundays.

In light of the raging third wave of the deadly disease that has killed at least 81 additional people, largely in Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) in the last 24 hours, Sindh’s provincial administration also decided to suspend physical education sessions from grades 1 through 8 in the province.
In order to request a two-week suspension of interprovincial transport, a taskforce on Covid-19 in the province of Sindh decided to contact the NCOC.

The Sindh education department recently declared a 15-day suspension of physical education sessions in all province-wide public and private institutions.
The NCOC reports that on April 3, about 55,605 tests were carried out nationwide, of which 5,020 were positive, bringing the total number of cases reported in the nation to 687,908.
Meanwhile, in response to an increase in coronavirus infections, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Dr. Faisal Sultan stated on Sunday that the federal government is improving health facilities across the nation.
