The government has announced a reduction in petrol and diesel prices, effective August 1. According to a notification from the finance ministry, petrol prices will decrease by Rs. 6.17 per liter, bringing the new rate to Rs. 269.43. High-speed diesel will see a reduction of Rs. 10.86 per liter, now priced at Rs. 272.77.

Additionally, the government has lowered the prices of kerosene and light diesel oil.

This adjustment follows a recent increase in petroleum prices during the last review period, where petrol was raised by Rs. 9.99 per liter and high-speed diesel by Rs. 6.18 per liter. In the first half of July, petrol prices also increased by Rs. 7.45 per liter and high-speed diesel by Rs. 9.56 per liter.
