Govt Give Task of Collecting 3.89bn Challan to Traffic Police
According to a recent media source, following the issuance of the provincial budget, the Punjab government has tasked traffic police with collecting Rs. 3.89 billion in penalties during the fiscal year 2021-22.

The Punjab government issued these directives in an attempt to close the financial imbalance. Throughout the province, the traffic police must collect Rs 3.90 billion in challans during the upcoming fiscal year.
According to sources, the province government will also distribute a portion of the Rs3.90 billion in fines to the traffic police.
During the current fiscal year, the Punjab police issued challans of Rs 2.74 billion, according to the news. And now their duty has surpassed the previous year’s challan aim by Rs 300 million.
According to the sources, this decision was made in an effort to reduce the frequency of traffic offences and accidents caused by fast drivers. As a result, drivers caught driving without authorization or while using a cell phone are now subject to hefty fines.
Overspeeding motorcyclists will be punished Rs. 500 instead of Rs. 200, overspeeding automobile drivers will be fined Rs. 750, and drivers of private or public transit vehicles will be fined Rs. The charge for disobeying traffic signs will increase from Rs. 200 to Rs. 500, while the fine for not carrying a helmet will increase from Rs. 200 to Rs. 600.

Cars that travel in the incorrect way will be penalised Rs. 400, as will those who change lanes without using signs. Those who are observed driving without their seatbelts secured will be fined Rs. 750 as opposed to Rs.
