Dr. Umar Saif, the acting federal minister for information technology and telecommunication, stated that the government is preparing to set up a system for keeping money in the nation because many IT companies are keeping money abroad.
While the country’s whole IT business is worth more than $4 billion, the minister claimed that Pakistan’s official IT exports are only $2.6 billion. He said that the government is planning to block the flow of dollars overseas and that IT companies have a lot of money stashed outside, adding that it will develop a system to keep dollars in the country in the coming days.

The minister also brought up the country’s upcoming spectrum auction, claiming that no legitimate auction has been done in the last ten years. He continued by saying that a telecom tribunal would be established.
He said that the government would introduce an interest-free lending program to help independent contractors. He added that the government would create a fund for startups with the assistance of foreign businesses. 3 billion rupees will be set aside by the government for this fund.
The infrastructure-sharing policy, according to Dr. Saif, will be discussed at the upcoming cabinet meeting. He emphasized that National Roaming Infrastructure has been established, and that in two months, National Roaming would begin on national highways. Users would have the choice to utilize several mobile networks on public roads, according to the IT ministry.
