Govt Won’t Freeze Foreign Currency Accounts: Minister
According to State Minister for Finance and Revenue Aisha Ghaus Pasha, despite the serious dollar crisis the nation is experiencing, the administration does not intend to freeze foreign exchange accounts.
Today, the minister stated there are no intentions to restrict foreign currency accounts and that no such move is currently being discussed while speaking to reporters in Islamabad.

The minister responded to a question regarding the ongoing discussions with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) by stating that the IMF and the State Bank of Pakistan regularly discuss the completion of the 9th Review.
The federal government has shared the budget numbers for the fiscal year 2023–2024 with the IMF, the minister claims. The minister emphasised that the budget’s tax reforms are intended to increase employment and production, both of which are goals backed by the lender.
IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva had assured Pasha that the most recent review would be finished. “All our friendly countries have also given their assurances to the IMF,” she continued.
