Green Urbanization to Reduce Adverse Effects of Pollution by PM
Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan stated on the 15th of December that green urbanization and smart cities are necessary to combat the consequences of climate change and pollution.
According to the sources, the prime minister emphasized the use of smart trees, eco-friendly materials, blue highways, and energy-efficient construction materials in the Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project (RRUDP) and the Central Business District (CBD).

Allegedly, the meeting took all necessary measures to mitigate the effects of smog and pollution by developing strategies and mitigation plans. These plans include the preservation of existing urban biodiversity. The Prime Minister also directed that similar green development concepts be replicated in other cities.

Additionally, it was revealed at the conference that the private sector would invest Rs 100 billion in its flagship CBD project in the first year. Also included in the Ravi River Project Master Plan is the development of 1,900 low-cost dwellings. The Prime Minister stated that the development of these creative enterprises would generate job opportunities and improve the socioeconomic level of the populace.
