Health Center Planned on Sanatorium Land
Mansehra: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved the construction of a modern health center on the land of the British-era Dadar sanatorium, which was largely damaged by 2005 earthquake and 2001 flash floods.

Parliamentary secretary for water resources and MNA Salah Mohammad Khan told the concerned reporters that the facility to be developed as a joint venture of public and private sectors was approved by Chief Minister Mahmood Khan.
Spread over 1,600 kanals of land, the pre-Partition sanatorium was once the largest tuberculosis treatment center in Asia. It has been closed for years but part of its building hosts few mentally retarded and other patients.
The parliamentary secretary said the government had included the Dadar health project among four facilities being established in different parts of the province at his request.

He said the government had signed a memorandum of understanding with mega firms for those health centers in Peshawar, Lakki Marwat and Malakand.
