Home Loan Disbursement Rose to 49% in August
Karachi: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) said that bank home loans for the Mera Pakistan Mera Ghar (MPMG) had dramatically increased over the past several months, according to news reports.

Currently, banks have authorized PKR 59 billion in financing against a total of PKR 154 billion in financing requests. In August alone, banks released PKR 3.8 billion, a 49% increase from the previous month. This brings the total money released since the commencement of the project to 11,500,000,000 PKR.
According to the central bank, the improvement in the total disbursement increase is attributed to the central bank’s beneficial initiatives. The central bank also released a list of banks that approved the most loans to clients, with Meezan Bank leading the list with PKR 9.53 billion, followed by Standard Chartered Bank (PKR 9.49 billion) and Habib Bank Limited (PKR 9.40 billion) (PKR 5.08 billion).

However, Bank Alfalah topped the list of banks with PKR 1.31 billion in dispersed funds, followed by Meezan Bank with PKR 1.22 billion and National Bank of Pakistan with PKR 1.15 billion in total monies issued.
39% of MPMG mortgage loan applications were approved by banks, with 19% of approved applications receiving funding. In accordance with the updated requirements of the central bank, commercial banks have began accepting applications from all throughout the nation via 8,000 authorized branches.
