ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Housing and Works Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada has expressed serious concerns over delays in the completion of the Green Enclave-I and Lifestyle Residency projects, directing the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) to take immediate steps to resolve outstanding issues.
The minister raised the matter while chairing the 50th Executive Board Meeting of FGEHA, where officials were asked to provide detailed explanations for the slow progress of the projects.
According to the minister, the prolonged delays have also led to repeated questions before parliamentary and Senate committees and other oversight forums. He noted that despite nearly three years passing, the projects had not progressed as expected.
The minister also took note of concerns raised by Green Enclave-I allottees, including reported protests and approaches to the Federal Ombudsman. He stressed that the concerns of members who have invested their savings in the projects should be addressed through transparent and efficient mechanisms.
FGEHA was directed to complete all pending inquiry reports within the prescribed timelines and act promptly on their findings. The minister further called for decisions based on inquiry recommendations to remain fair, transparent and timely.
The meeting also reviewed the Authority’s annual budget for the financial year 2026–27, which was approved by the FGEHA Executive Board.
The directives reflect the government’s focus on resolving administrative and implementation issues affecting federal housing projects and addressing concerns of allottees awaiting completion.
