Lahore, Pakistan – April 2025 — In a significant move towards modernization and road safety, the Punjab Police has officially launched a digital e-license system that enables drivers across the province to carry and verify their driving licenses directly from their smartphones.

This new initiative, led by the Traffic Police Punjab, is aimed at enhancing traffic regulation, reducing the number of unlicensed drivers on the roads, and streamlining enforcement procedures through digital verification.

What Is the Punjab e-License?

The e-license is a digitally accessible version of a physical driving license, now recognized by law enforcement officers as valid proof of driving eligibility. With this system in place, motorists no longer need to carry a physical card; a digital copy on their phone is sufficient for routine traffic checks.

Why It Matters

This digital transformation is part of a broader campaign by the Punjab Traffic Police to improve road safety, simplify citizen services, and enhance traffic law enforcement. It also aligns with Pakistan’s growing focus on digitization in public services.
